Microcement

Microcement: a continuous, versatile and modern material

Microcement is appealing because of its seamlessness and clean aesthetic, but its true value emerges when it is properly understood: what it is, where it works best, and what decisions influence the final result. At Microcement & Design we work on-site throughout Mallorca and apply microcement to floors, bathrooms, kitchens, exteriors and commercial projects. This guide brings together the essentials to help you make informed decisions before you begin: clear, practical information focused on avoiding mistakes. And if you already have a space in mind, at the end you'll find direct links to our services.

Foundations and concept

What is microcement?

There is a lot of talk about "microcement" as if it were a finish, but in reality it is a system. What's interesting is not just its seamless appearance, but how it's constructed to be stable, pleasant to the touch, and durable. Here we explain in a simple way what it is made of, why it is different from other wall coverings and what makes it such a popular choice for clean renovations.

Where it fits best

Applications: where it works (and why)

Microcement is not "for everything" in the same way. There are spaces where it shines due to its continuity, and others where the secret lies in choosing the right system and finish: interior, exterior, wet areas, high traffic areas… In this section, you'll see real-world applications and quick criteria to determine if it fits your project before starting construction.

Maintenance and cleaning: what makes the difference over time

A well-done microcement is maintained with simple routines, but there are details that change everything: what products to avoid, how to clean without "killing" the sealant, and when it is advisable to renew the protection so that the surface continues to look impeccable. If you want your floor, shower, or countertop to age well, this is the part worth reading.

And if you're still deciding, you can start with bathrooms, floors, or exteriors, which are usually the areas where the difference is most noticeable.

Where can microcement be used?

Microcement is a versatile material that adapts to different spaces and needs. Thanks to its technical and aesthetic properties, it can be applied to a wide variety of surfaces and contexts. The most common uses are:

Trustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. Estábamos buscando una empresa especializada en microcemento en Mallorca para reformar nuestros baños y, después de buscar en Google, encontramos a Microcement & Design. No podríamos haber elegido mejor.

I first contracted Joaquin a couple of years ago to redo poor work done by a previous contractor and he did not disappoint. Over the last few years he has microcemented my bathrooms, kitchen and exterior staircase. He is meticulous, fairly price and I trust him to always deliver a great final product. I have myself chipped or stained the microcement and he always comes back to fix it and does not charge me. A true professional I highly recommend him.
